A VERY BRITISH FOLLOW-UP ORDER

The track builders in Great Britain have been among Techne’s most important customer groups for many years. Fifty switch wagons, three Multi Tasker 1200s, two Multi Tasker 810s and five Multi Tasker 250s have been delivered thus far, and now a 1200 and a 250 are being added to the list. With a lifting capacity of 125 tonnes, the Multi Tasker 1200 has been used on construction sites since the Easter weekend. In Great Britain, expansion and modernisation of the railway infrastructure is in the middle of the main construction phase. The task for Network Rail includes; 7,000 kilometres of track, 6,000 switches and almost 300,000 square metres of railway stations and platforms are being rebuilt or renovated. Network Rail also ordered the Multi Tasker 1200 with special car, counter-weight car and container car with two structures for personnel and tools as well as various beams. The Multi Tasker 250 also went into operation over the Easter weekend. SB Rail was the customer to operate the crane with the boom that can rock down to the ground. One clear technical advantage over its older colleagues is that the 250 has a telescoping counterweight that gives it even more performance and flexibility in track construction.
