FIRST NEW RAILWAY RESCUE CRANE COMMISSIONED TO DEUTSCHE BAHN

Today, the first of five railway rescue cranes has been commissioned to Deutsche Bahn (German Railway). This first Multi Tasker with a lifting capacity of 160 t and the four succeeding cranes will substitute the current fleet that has been in use since the 1970s. The new trains consist of five vehicles: the railway rescue crane Multi Tasker itself, a match wagon, a counterweight car, a combined sleeping and sanitary car as well as a combined room for accommodation, workshop and energy. Three of the new cranes have lifting capacities of 160 t, the remaining two have 100 t lifting capacity each.
