MULTI MOVER M 700 FOR TKCSA IN BRAZIL

31.08.2016

Ever since it was established, Companhia Siderúrgica do Atlântico (CSA) has been making good use of TECHNE MULTI MOVER M 700 special transporters. The remote controlled vehicles transport the pig iron safely to the steelworks in a pig iron ladle after it is smelted from iron ore and coke in the blast furnace. CSA opted for this system because of the compact dimensions, a small footprint, and simple and cost-effective routes. To expand the fleet, the fifth transporter was delivered to Brazil and successfully commissioned in the summer of last year. The low operating costs and good reliability were the decisive factors in favour of another TECHNE MULTI MOVER M 700.

In addition to these transporters with a 700 tonne payload, CSA also has a TECHNE MULTI MOVER Y 550 ladle crane to complement the pig iron transport system. Safe and reliable TECHNE technology in the form of five Slag Taurus P 110 slag transporters is also used to transport slag from the steelworks for storage. These vehicles have a payload of more than 100 tonnes and a total weight of about 200 tonnes.

From the start of 2017, Ternium took ownership of Companhia Siderúrgica do Atlântico, in Santa Cruz near Rio de Janeiro, , with ThyssenKrupp having previously held a majority stake for around seven years.
